About synchronous online conferencing

Hi all,

It’s nice to spread our arms to welcome the spring time!

Some of you may have concerns about the synchronous online conferencing next month. It is a LIVE online class time in ADOL 576, so please allocate your time in advance to attend one of the two online meetings. Dr. Jerry T will guide us to have active discussions on your research questions. All you need to prepare for the online meeting are speakers and a microphone for your computer. A webcam is not a requirement for you. If you have a webcam on your computer, we can “see” you online when Dr. T makes your video be on. If you don’t have a webcam, it is fine with all of us.

The following steps may help you have a picture in mind on the online conferencing.

1. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVQQR9UoM1I&feature=related to take a look the brief overview on Elluminate.

2. View this video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrwkPySbZ_4&feature=related

3. Go to http://www.elluminate.com/

4. Click “Support” icon on the left side bar

5. Follow the steps of “First time Users”

6. You should successfully install Elluminate software.

If you have any questions on installing Elluminate, please leave your messages on the class blog. I will reply it ASAP.

Stay tuned for further instructions on the online conferencing session.

Enjoy the rest of spring break!
