Class Paper: Culture Shock
ReplyDeletehttp://voicethread.com/share/446923/
TOPIC: Sibling Relationships
ReplyDeleteHere's my link:
http://voicethread.com/share/448287/
Don't judge me! I hate listening to my own voice, and I'm afraid I got a little monotone...and then I couldn't figure out how to fix slide number two (which I basically read anyway) without having to re-do the entire dang thing!

Very interesting on sibling relationships. I have three children and the oldest is definaltly the leader the middle quieter and the pleaser. I definatley agree on your slide on sister sister the most intimate relationship my two daughters are very close with eachother. Great topic thanks.
ReplyDeleteGreat PowerPoint on Culture Shock I had a cousin that went on a mission in Sweden and had to return because I believe of culture shock aches pains depression, some of the symptoms that you discussed in your slides. Thanks

Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your presentation on sibling relationships. I have two children, a son and a daughter, who are only 1 1/2 years apart. I can see the correlation between your presentation and what I see at home from my own children
This is the URL for my PowerPoint presentation. I apologise that there isn't any audio - Dr. T. and I are working on it.

The title is "Proxemics - Remove Your Person from My Bubble, Please."
Thank you,

Sherry! Your presentation rocked! I loved the tunes, and I loved the first story about the cadet from Westpoint.
ReplyDeleteAfter my junior high stint where I gave my "enemies" the "silent treatment" I haven't thought much about silence being used as a weapon. Interestingly, it's also so valued and respected.
Thanks for a great presentation!
Here is the URL for my post. Sorry I went a little long, there was just some much information to talk about. Thanks for listening if you stick with it.

Brenda,
ReplyDeleteCould you set your online presentation (voice over) to be viewed for public? I forgot my password for voicethread site. (Too many passwords!) Just like what Dr. T did. When I clicked his voice-over URL, I can hear and view his online presentation directly.
Thanks.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great presentation on the use of touch that some countries use for healing as an alternative method. My mom uses alternative methods with massages and peppermint oil for pain etc. I like how you went through each slide and made very clear points. Thanks

Bill,
ReplyDeleteYour powerpoint about the Johari window was very helpful. I was drawn to this concept when we read about it. Your presentation helped me to understand it on a better level. I thought your personal story about not traveling out of DC after 9/11, and the application of your behavior as that of quadrant 4, real insightful. With respect to quandrant 3, I often wonder why we are reluctant to share information about ourselves. I wonder why we put so much effort forth to protect ourselves. Anyway, thanks for your excellent presentation and thoughtful insight into the Johari window.

Hui-wen Huang,
ReplyDeleteI read your posts. I don't know how to make it view for public, but I mysteriously figured out a way to get it on my blog. Laf! I tried the link that I posted (Sorry, I renamed myself Ahoy! as now I forgot how to change it!) Anyway, the link to VoiceThread did take me to my presentation when I checked it, but try the following link and see if that works better.

Marie,
ReplyDeleteI just listened to your presentation and it was interesting the way you separated out the various relationships we develop trust in - i.e. personal, professional. Your presentation was very well done, clear and concise. I liked the pictures too, very nice.
Donna Blakley
Susan,
ReplyDeleteYour presentation on emotional to social intelligence was intriguing. I'm not familiar with Goleman's work in social intelligence; your presentation made me want to find out more. The Four Agreements made a lot of sense. I liked your last slide too! Great job! :)
